DUSU Vice President Alleges Fraud in President's University Admission

DUSU vice-president Abhi Dahiya has lodged a complaint against president Tushar Dedha, accusing him of using a fraudulent marksheet for admission to Delhi University. Dedha, however, denied the allegations and announced plans to file a defamation case.

Alleged Fraud in DUSU Presidents Admission

In his complaint to Delhi University Vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh, Dahiya, a member of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), claimed that Dedha holds two class 12th marksheets from different boards—CBSE and UP board—both obtained as a regular student in 2016.

Allegations of Fraudulent Admission

The complaint alleges that Dedha, associated with the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarti Parishad (ABVP), used illegal means and provided false information about his qualifications to secure admission to Delhi University. It further states that Dedha submitted false statements and affidavits about his qualifications to contest the DUSU presidential election.

"Dedha used illegal means and gave false facts about his qualifications to get admissions in graduation and later in post-graduation. He also filed a false statement and affidavit about his qualifications for the purposes of contesting election of the president DUSU. By giving the wrong information, he has played fraud upon the university," the complaint read.

Details of Alleged Violations

The records indicate that Dedha has two intermediate class 12 marksheets: one from CBSE in the Arts stream with roll number 9130384, and another from Madyamik Siksha Parishad Uttar Pradesh Board in the Science stream with roll number 0322496. Both were passed in 2016 as a regular student, which allegedly violates examination bye-laws of both CBSE and the Uttar Pradesh Board.

The complainant demanded that the results of DUSU presidential elections be declared null and void and Dedha be removed from his position due to filing false statements and affidavits about his qualifications for contesting the elections.

Dedha's Response

Responding to these allegations, Dedha stated there was no wrongdoing on his part. He plans to file a defamation case against NSUI, its national president Varun Choudhary, and Abhi Dahiya for misrepresenting his marksheet.

Choudhary posted a copy of the complaint and Dedha's marksheet on social media platform X, accusing him of fraud. "The markesheets provided by the complainant are mine and are true but they are presented with distorted information. According to a Supreme Court order, one can give two exams at the same time. I studied from both CBSE and the UP board in 2016. But I only used one of the certificates of the UP board while taking admission here in DU," Dedha claimed.

"I will take legal action against NSUI, its national president, and Abhi Dahiya for spreading distorted information about me," he added.

Dedha graduated with a BA Program from Satyawati College in 2019 and is currently pursuing post-graduation in MA Buddhism from Delhi University.
