In a shocking incident, a woman got severely injured and later died in the hospital on Sunday, as her clothes got entangled in the doors of the Delhi Metro and she was dragged by the train for a few meters. According to the reports, the incident took place at the Red Line's Inderlok metro station on December 14, and today, the woman succumbed to death in Safdarjung Hospital.
Sharing the statement on the tragic incident, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said, "An incident occurred at Inderlok Metro station on 14th December, where prima facie it appears that a lady passenger's clothes got entangled in a train leading to injuries and subsequent demise in hospital today."

The deceased was identified as Reena Devi, who was heading to Mohan Nagar along with her son. Following the incident, the Delhi police launched the probe under Section 174 of the CrPC and asked the DMRC to provide CCTV footage.
A senior Police official told the media, "If negligence is identified, a case will be registered."
According to the reports, the incident happened after Delhi Metro's door sensor failed to detect a woman's presence. Her saree was tucked in the door and she was dragged for a few meters by the train, leading to the accident, said reports.
Soon after the incident, the Delhi metro staff rushed her to Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors admitted her to the ICU ward of Neurosurgery. The reports suggest that the woman succumbed to severe head injuries.
After the woman's death, DMRC spokesperson, Anuj Dayal said, "An incident occurred at Inderlok Metro station on December 14 where, prima facie, it appears that a lady passenger's clothes got entangled in a train, leading to injuries and subsequent demise in hospital, the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) has ordered an inquiry into this incident."
