Delhi: Centre Revokes GRAP-4 Restrictions Amid Air Quality Improvement
After observing a modest enhancement in the air quality, Delhi has seen the revocation of the stringent GRAP-4 anti-pollution measures. The decision comes as a response to the air quality index (AQI) in Delhi showing signs of "continuous improvement" throughout the day. By 4 PM, the AQI had reached a "very poor" rating of 369, which falls 31 points short of the threshold set by the Supreme Court for the activation of stage-4 restrictions.
The imposition of GRAP-4 restrictions in the national capital and its surrounding regions was reinstated last week, specifically on December 16. This measure was part of efforts to mitigate the severe pollution levels that have periodically plagued Delhi, impacting the health and daily lives of its residents.

This improvement in air quality and the subsequent easing of restrictions reflect the dynamic nature of Delhi's battle with pollution. Efforts to monitor and improve the air quality are ongoing, with measures being adjusted in response to changing conditions. The revocation of GRAP-4 is a positive step towards normalcy, but it also serves as a reminder of the need for continued vigilance and action to combat air pollution in the city.
