Bihar Floor Test: BJP-JDU Alliance's Nitish Kumar Government To Prove Mandate On Monday

Bihar Floor Test: After breaking the alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal-United (JDU) joined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to continue ruling the state and now, on Monday, the newly formed government has to prove its mandate in Bihar's assembly.

Bihar Vidhansabha comprises 243 seats and to pass the floor test Chief Minister Nitish Kumar needs the support of at least 122 members in favour.

According to the reports, Nitish Kumar is likely to prove the numbers with the support of his own (JDU) 45 MLAs, 78 members of BJP, 4 of Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and 1 independent.

On the other hand, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejaswi Yadav have been claiming a big twist (Khela) during the floor test. Sources from RJD suggest that around 15 members of Nitish Kumar's party (JDU) are in contact with former Bihar CM Tejaswi Yadav, and they are likely to miss the floor test that may result in the collapse of Nitish Kumar's government.

To stop horse trading in the states ahead of the crucial floor test for the government, which is also a test to tell who is the real boss of Bihar, all the parties have shifted their lawmakers to safe houses.

Parties have also summoned whip to their MLAs to attend the assembly and floor test on Monday.

The numbers suggest that Jitan Ram Manjhi is the kingmaker in the current situation and 4 votes from his members can turn the tables.

Earlier reports suggested that Lalu Yadav has offered Chief Minister's Position to Jitan Ram Manjhi if leaves Nitish Kumar and helps RJD to form a new government in Bihar.
