Bank Holidays in April 2024: Is Bank Closed On Easter Monday? Here's State Wise List Of All Holidays In April
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has shared a list of public holidays for the month of April. As per the announcement, banks will remain closed for 14 days in the upcoming month. The (RBI) holiday list comprises Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, and list of public holidays on which banks will remain shut.
The advance list of holidays by the bank regulatory authority has been shared as an advisory for the customers to avoid inconvenience.
The RBI has also announced that Sunday, March 31 will be a working day for banks as it is closing for the financial year despite Easter, however, the banks will keep the customer services closed and only backend annual accounting work will be done.

Here is the list of bank holidays for the month of April 2024:
April 1, 2024: Banks will remain closed on April 1 to compensate Sunday, March 31, which was also Easter Day. However, banks will be operational in some states like West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Chandigarh, Sikkim, and Meghalaya.
April 5, 2024: To observe the Birth Anniversary of Babu Jagjivan and Juma-ul-Vida, Banks will remain closed in Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir.
April 9, 2024: A bank holiday has been announced on April 9 following celebrations of Gudhi Padwa, Ugadi Festival, Telugu New Year's Day, Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba), and first Navratra in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad - Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad - Telangana, Manipur, Goa, Jammu and Kashmir.
April 10, 2024: On the occasion of Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr), banks will remain closed on April 10.
April 11, 2024: Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) will be celebrated on April 11 in Chandigarh, Sikkim, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh.
April 13, 2024: Bohag Bihu, Cheiraoba, Baisakhi, Biju Festival will fall on Second Saturday this time and no bank services will be operational in Assam, Manipur, Jammu, and Kashmir.
April 16, 2024: On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, banks in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh will stay closed.
