As Ram Rahim languishes in jail, his followers celebrate his incarnation

Sirsa, Aug 1: Followers of Dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving out 20 years prison sentence in Sunaria (Rohtak) jail, are observing the month of August as 'Incarnation of Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan'.

The followers are not perturbed by the recent development as the special CBI court in Panchkula allowed 18 persons to depose as defense witnesses in cases against Gurmeet Ram Rahim. The Dera chief is facing trial in the murder cases of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati and former Dera Sacha Sauda follower Ranjit Singh.

The statement released by Dera Sacha Sauda group, says, "Celebrating the Incarnation of Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, with Welfare. The whole aura becomes blessed and pride in its existence, When the Lord of Universe Incarnates, to rid souls from the life cycle of births and deaths."

As per the latest news, the Dera requested followers to celebrate his birthday through welfare works.

According to Dera statement released on July, 31st, "On the occasion of his birthday, Rev. Guru Ji asks just one gift from all his disciples, to celebrate the same through welfare, next planting Trees, all over the globe. And disciples are more than happy to gift this unique gift to their Master. In fact, followers, celebrate every occasion, like their birthdays, marriage etc. by planting trees, pledging against evils, donating blood etc. This is a unique tradition which every DSS follower takes pride in following and is thankful to Guru Ji for initiating these."

Ram Rahim Singh is serving 20 years in jail in two rape cases for the rape and sexual exploitation of two female disciples and fined Rs 30 lakh.
The sect chief has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in each of the two cases of rape.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special court judge Jagdeep Singh had announced the sentence on August 28, 2018.
