Anti-Drone System Deployed to Enhance Security at the Taj Mahal
An advanced anti-drone system has been installed at the Taj Mahal to bolster security, according to police reports on Friday. Assistant Commissioner of Police Taj Security, Syed Arib Ahmed, confirmed that this system is operational within the monument's premises and can neutralise any drone entering the restricted airspace.

Surveillance extends over a 500-metre radius around the Taj Mahal. Any drone detected within this area will be promptly disabled. Although the system can cover an 8-km radius, monitoring is initially confined to 500 metres due to the monument's security sensitivity, Ahmed stated.
Drone Neutralisation Technology
The anti-drone system employs radio frequency and GPS signal jamming technology to incapacitate drones. Once a drone is downed, a rapid response team will secure the device and locate the operator. This ensures comprehensive security measures are in place around the historic site.
Uttar Pradesh Police are among the select few in India using such systems for safeguarding VIPs and critical sites. The technology was recently utilised during significant events like the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj and the Ram Lalla idol consecration at Ayodhya's Ram temple in January 2024.
This deployment highlights the increasing use of technology in maintaining security at important locations. The Taj Mahal, being a world-renowned monument, necessitates stringent protective measures to ensure its safety and that of its visitors.
