A road accident in Madhya Pradesh has turned into a major political controversy after statements made by BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi triggered public outrage.

Accident in Karera Injures Five People

The incident took place in Karera, where a speeding Thar SUV allegedly hit five people.
According to the complaint, three men were riding a motorcycle when the vehicle first struck two women walking on the road. It then collided with the motorcycle, leaving all five injured.

Witnesses claimed that the SUV was being driven at high speed and hit the victims from behind.

They also said that the vehicle carried "BJP MLA" signage instead of a proper number plate, raising questions about misuse of political identity.

A video from the scene went viral, showing Dinesh Lodhi arguing with bystanders instead of helping the injured.

Viral Video Adds to Controversy

In the viral clip, Dinesh Lodhi can be heard saying that he was honking and using a siren, and questioning why people did not move out of the way.

His reaction in the video has drawn criticism, with many questioning his behaviour at the accident site.

Initial Statement by MLA Praised

Soon after the incident, Pritam Lodhi took a strong and responsible stance.

In a social media post, he said that public interest comes first and that the police should ensure justice for the victims. His statement was seen as a rare example of accountability.

Sudden Change in Tone

However, the situation took a dramatic turn later.
The MLA criticised a police officer, SDOP Ayush Jakhar, after reports that his son was warned not to return to the area to avoid tension.

Lodhi made strong remarks, questioning the officer's authority and warning against any action he considered unfair. His comments were widely criticised for being aggressive and inappropriate.

Police Action and Investigation

Police have registered a case against Dinesh Lodhi under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to rash driving and endangering life.
During inspection, officials found that the SUV had a hooter and illegal black film on its windows, both of which violate traffic rules.

Despite being called for questioning, Dinesh Lodhi reportedly arrived at the police station in the same vehicle involved in the accident.
