27-Year-Old Man Dies After Alleged Beating During Party Brawl in Delhi

A 27-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by friends during a party in Delhi's Mangolpuri. The incident is under police investigation.

A 27-year-old man named Habib Rehman died after an alleged assault by friends during a party in Delhi's Mangolpuri, police reported on Saturday. A call was made to the Burari police station around 1 pm, where the caller claimed that Rehman, a resident of Sant Nagar in Burari, was beaten by friends and handed over unconscious. He was taken to a hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

Initial investigations revealed that Rehman was invited on Friday night by his friend Rinka Dedha for a party at a restaurant in Gujranwala town. Rinka Dedha, who lives in Ghazipur, was accompanied by his cousin Harsh Dedha and later joined by friends Aman and Vicky. An acquaintance named Anil from Burari also joined the gathering.

Incident Details and Investigation

The group proceeded to a restaurant in Mangolpuri within the South Rohini police jurisdiction, where they consumed alcohol. During the party, a dispute arose, leading to Rehman allegedly striking Rinka Dedha on the head with a beer bottle. In response, Rinka Dedha and Harsh Dedha reportedly assaulted him and threatened him with a firearm, according to a senior police officer.

Following the altercation, the group took Rehman to Rinka Dedha's dairy farm located in East Delhi's Ghazipur. There, he was further beaten with sticks and rods. The accused initially planned to dispose of Rehman's body in the Yamuna river. However, Vicky, Aman, and Anil intervened and instead brought him back to Burari.

Legal Proceedings and Case Transfer

The group handed over Rehman to his brother at approximately 5:15 am on Saturday. Due to the incident originating in Mangolpuri, authorities have transferred the case to the South Rohini police station for further investigation. The police are continuing their inquiries into this tragic event.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities gather more details about the events leading up to Rehman's death. The police are working to piece together the sequence of events and determine the full extent of involvement by each individual present at the party.
