Hyderabad Man Finds Worm In Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate, Shares Video

A man on the internet complained that he found a worm in Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate. He said that he purchased it at Ratnadeep Metro Ameerpet on Friday in Hyderabad.

"Found a worm crawling in Cadbury chocolate purchased at Ratnadeep Metro Ameerpet today.. Is there a quality check for these near to expiry products? Who is responsible for public health hazards?" a man named Robin Zaccheus said and shared the clip tagging Dairly Milk along with a few other links.

However, the company responded to his post and regreted over the incident. The message read: "Hi, Mondelez India Foods Private Limited (formerly Cadbury India Ltd) endeavours to maintain the highest quality standards, and we regret to note that you have had an unpleasant experience. To enable us to address your concern, please write (cont) http://ms.spr.ly/l/6011ihCbH"

The official Twitter account of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation said that The Concerned Food Safety team have been alerted on this issue and the same will be resolved at the earliest.

The clip went viral. "Indian standard of manufacturing. In West cadbury would be sued and lose a big chunk of profit. India they will bribe the inspector with a box of chocolate and some cash," one user said.

The second user commented: "Looks like this chocolate didn't had double wrapping. The reason why dairy milk is double wrapped (golden foil + white paper wrap) is to avoid worms get inside. P.s Always inspect the product & expiry details before consumption."

Another netizen said,"Most distressing and frustrating indeed 😳 Despite all the tall claims of "aiming as a developed nation", poorest implementation of quality controls and consumer protection. Worse is forever loosening #Pharma sector playing with lives viz spurious and ineffective meds! 😳 SHAME"

Sharing a similar experience, one user claimed, "Last week I ordered a dairy milk valentine special pack from them which consisted of dairy milk silk chocolates. In which I found a small plastic piece while chewing the chocolate."
