IIlegal mining scam sent Janardhana Reddy to jail in 2011

Former Environmental Minister of Karnataka Gali Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law Srinivasa Reddy were arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sep 5, 2011 at Bellary in Karnataka in connection with illegal mining scam in Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC).

Currently both of them hare lodged in a jail in AP. The OMC scam has resulted in a loss of Rs 5,100 crore to the nation's exchequer. [Read: The complete details of Janardhana Reddy]
