'Panchayat' Season 3 Release Date Tomorrow, Amazon OTT, Other Details

Season 3 of the Amazon Prime series 'Panchayat' is set to release on the OTT platform tomorrow, 28 May. Here are all the details you need to know.

The series will continue to be directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, who told PTI that the crew behind the series has already started work on season 4 of the series, with season 5 also in the pipeline.

The series is being written by Chandan Kumar, produced by The Viral Fever, and will star actors such as Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy and Sanvikaa. Many of these actors shared their excitement with the release of the new season on Instagram.

The plot of the series revolves around an engineering student called Abhishek Tripathi, played by Jitendra Kumar, who has to take up the position of a secretary in a Panchayat due to lack of other job options. This leads to him getting caught up in the local politics of the fictional village in Uttar Pradesh called Phulera.

The new season of the show will follow Abhishek trying to navigate the political issues of the village during a volatile period, that being the elections. As the many different gangs of the village try and improve their standing among the locals, either through beneficiary work or violence, Abhishek needs to balance his responsibilities with the village with his goals to study for his school.

The new trailer also showed off both intense scenes involving gang warfare and guns, as well as light-hearted scenes filled with jokes, innuendos, and laughter. The new season, as with previous seasons, will portray the serious local politics that take place in villages in India, but not lose its humour along the way.
