Kingdom Day 1 Box Office Collection: How Much Has Vijay-Starrer Earned In Andhra, Telangana?

Vijay Deverakonda's latest outing Kingdom, a Telugu-language spy action thriller directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, has taken a flying start at the Indian box office. Released on Thursday, July 31, the film recorded an impressive turnout across theatres, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Kingdom witnessed solid occupancy across all major showtimes. The morning shows began with a robust 63.56% occupancy, with fans thronging to early screenings. While there was a slight dip in the afternoon shows to 56.52%, the film held steady. Evening shows saw a marginal decline to 50.12%, but the night shows recovered strongly, clocking in an occupancy of 61.27%, as per Sacnilk data.

Region Wise Response

Hyderabad, a key market for Telugu cinema, reported an impressive overall occupancy of 71.5% on Day 1, with a peak of 79% for the night shows and over 664 shows screened throughout the day. Warangal emerged as a standout with a remarkable 88% occupancy, including a massive 95% during the night shows.

Other major centres also reported healthy footfalls:

Vizag (Visakhapatnam): 65.75% occupancy, boosted by strong morning (83%) and afternoon (79%) shows across 134 screens.

Vijayawada: 62% overall, with night occupancy also peaking at 69%.

Guntur: 71% overall with consistent turnout throughout the day.

Karimnagar: 62% across 19 shows.

Mahbubnagar: 68.5% (data not available for evening and night shows).

Kakinada: 64% across 28 shows.

The film's appeal extended slightly into other southern metros, with Chennai reporting 41% overall occupancy and Bengaluru at 34.5%. While Chennai saw its highest numbers in the evening (52%), Bengaluru maintained modest numbers through the day across 383 shows.

Decent Traction in North India

Despite the stronghold in the South, Kingdom struggled to make a dent in the northern circuits. In the National Capital Region (NCR), overall occupancy was a low 31.5%, with no significant traction in the evening or night slots. Mumbai fared even worse, with an overall turnout of just 17.3% across 19 shows.

Show Count & Market Spread

The film was screened across more than 1,600 shows in India on Day 1. The majority of these were concentrated in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where fan frenzy and strong word-of-mouth contributed to the robust numbers.

How Much Has Kingdom Earned On Day 1?

Early estimates suggest that the film has earned approximately 15 crore net on its opening day from India. Of this, nearly ₹12 crore is expected to have come from the Telugu states alone, while the rest of India contributed around ₹3 crore.

The positive word-of-mouth, coupled with Vijay Deverakonda's fanbase and the action-packed narrative, seems to be working in favour of Kingdom. Despite mixed reviews from critics, audiences have responded well to the film's high-octane sequences and stylish presentation.

The advance bookings for the weekend also look promising, particularly in urban centres like Hyderabad, Vizag, Bengaluru, and Chennai. If the momentum continues, the film could be on its way to becoming one of the biggest openers of the year in Telugu cinema.

With Kingdom, Deverakonda appears to be on track for a much-needed commercial success, especially after a string of underwhelming releases. All eyes are now on the weekend collections to see if the film can sustain its initial momentum.
