TN: Wife bleeds to death after husband performs delivery following online videos

Tirupur, July 27: A couple's planned delivery at home with the help of videos on social media went horribly wrong, leaving the 28-year old woman dead after the birth of a girl in Tamil Nadu's Tirupur.

On July 22, Krithika went into labour and Karthikeyan jumped into action to perform her delivery at their home in Tirupur. He called his friend and his friend's wife for assistance.

Soon after giving birth, 28-year old Krithika started bleeding excessively, and eventually fainted. Upon being rushed to the hospital, doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Karthikeyan was detained and taken in for questioning, after Child Development officials filed a complaint with police.

As for the baby, she is said to have been hospitalised as well.
