Chennai Power Cut On April 19: 9 Areas To Witness 8 Hour Power Outage On Saturday
Chennai Power Cut On April 19: Power cuts are back in Chennai. After more than two months, once again Tamil Nadu's capital will be hit by power supply on Saturday, April 19.
However, not many areas will be hit by power outage. As per the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation, only a handful of locations will be affected by power cuts on Saturday.

Usually, the electricity department will cut power for five hours but on April 10, there will be an eight-hour power outage in several locations in Avadi area due to maintenance work between 9 am and 5 pm.

- Pattabiram
- Chekkadu
- Thandurai
- Ayyappan Nagar
- Sridevi Nagar
- Kannappalayam
- Gopalapuram
- VGV Nagar
- VGN Nagar
A total of nine locations will witness power cuts on Saturday. However, the power supply will resume if the maintenance works are completed before the scheduled time.
Tangedco Foreman Suspended for Threatening Weaver
After a video of a foreman threatening a weaver went viral, the electricity department has was suspended on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old Tangedco foreman was accused of threatening him, according to a report in The Hindu. In view of the incident, he was suspended on Wednesday. the action was taken based on an internal inquiry. S. Kumaran, Divisional Engineer (Polur), issued the suspension order against K. Murugan, who was serving as a foreman at the Vadamathimangalam sub-station.
Investigations revealed that Kilpattu village had been grappling with repeated unscheduled power outages over the past few weeks. N. Ganesan, a 62-year-old weaver, had raised the issue by calling Tangedco's toll-free helpline.
