Annamalai Haters Behead Goat With His Photo In Viral Clip; Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Reacts

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has challenged the DMK to lay hands on him after a video of DMK workers butchering a goat with his photo surfaced online.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Annamalai said that killing an animal in public and beheading it with a photo of him is wrong. "If angry, come to me, I am in Coimbatore. Please don't kill the voiceless animal," he said.

The incident occurred in Paiyur panchayat in Krishnagiri district. The video shows a group of men slaughtering a goat with a photo of Annamalai tied to its head. The goat was adorned with a garland before the men proceeded to behead it. One man is seen holding the goat by its legs while another beheads it.

The video concludes with the men dragging the carcass along the road, leaving a trail of blood.

The disturbing video has been criticised by the BJP. Amit Malviya, in-charge of BJP's National Information & Technology Department, condemned the incident on his X account.

His wrote, "This is how Annamalai's political rivals 'celebrated' DMK win in Tamil Nadu - by slaughtering a goat in full public view, with a picture of Annamalai on it. Barbaric. This is how the anti- Santan I.N.D.I Alliance will butcher the Hindus, if they ever come to power."

A user said, "Alliance supporters pasted @annamalai_k's photo on a goat's head and then beheaded it, dragging the carcass amid joyous cries. This is beyond symbolism. This is a spine-chilling naked celebration of ISIS ideology. On Indian roads. No outrage. Because Democracy is not in danger."

Another clip has urged the Madras High Court to take suo moto legal action. The netizen added, "Hope the Hon High court of Madras or Hon Supreme Court of India will take suo moto legal action against these hardcore criminals showing cruelty to animals in public road. This is absolute violation of the rule of this land."
