Based on the information shared by Tamil associations based abroad, Masthan told reporters that the victims belong to Thanjavur, Ramanathapuram and Peravurani regions of the state.

The victims are identified as Rama Karuppan, Veerasamy Mariappan, Chinnadurai Krishnamurthy, Mohammed Sherif and Richard.
As per Chief Minister M K Stalin's directive, all necessary measures are being undertaken to repatriate the deceased and provide essential medical assistance to the injured, Masthan informed reporters. He further added that the Embassy in Kuwait had assured the provision of official victim information to the state government, with continuous monitoring of the situation in progress.
The tragic blaze, which engulfed a building in Kuwait's Mangaf city early on Wednesday, claimed the lives of 49 foreign workers, including approximately 40 Indians, and left 50 others wounded.
As per a report in NDTV, 21 of the 49 Indians killed in a huge fire in Kuwait yesterday were from Kerala.
The fire, suspected to have originated from a kitchen within a building accommodating 195 migrant workers in Mangaf, Ahmadi Governorate, erupted on Wednesday. This incident has spurred urgent appeals for action against real estate landlords and company proprietors who flout regulations by housing substantial numbers of foreign laborers in perilous environments to minimize expenses.
The fire rapidly intensified just after 4 am, catching most of the building's male occupants off guard while they were asleep. According to statements from officials of the Interior Ministry and the fire department, thick black smoke engulfed many victims, worsening the already dire situation.
