Bengaluru Metro Bandh: Namma Metro Green Line Services Suspended From Jan 26-28

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced a temporary suspension of Namma Metro services from January 26 to 28 between Peenya Industrial Area and Nagasandra stations on the Green Line. This suspension is in preparation for planned construction work on the extended green line from Nagasandra to Madavara.

During this period, train services will only be available between Peenya Industrial Area and Silk Industry Stations. Normal services between Nagasandra and Reshme Sansthan on the Green Route will resume from 5 am onwards on January 29.

Namma Metro Green Line Services Halted

Due to the anticipated heavy crowding at Peenya Industrial Area and Gorguntepalya metro stations, BMRCL advises passengers to utilize digital ticket facilities, including smart card tickets and QR code tickets, to expedite the ticket purchase process.

In light of the Republic Day festivities, BMRCL has also introduced the option of a return journey paper ticket for the 'Namma Metro.' This special ticket is available for those attending the fruit flower exhibition in Lalbagh on January 26.

Paper tickets can be purchased from all stations in the city between 8 am and 6 pm, with Lalbagh metro station selling tickets until 8 pm. The ticket price for travel from Lalbagh metro station to any metro station between 10 am and 8 pm is fixed at Rs. 30. Alternatively, passengers can use tokens, smart cards, or QR code tickets for travel to Lalbagh station.
