Andhra Pradesh Blast: 17 Dead, 41 Injured In Reactor Explosion At A Pharma Plant In Anakapalle
At least 17 people lost their lives and 41 others were injured in an explosion at the Achutapuram Special Economic Zone in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalle.
The blast happened at the Escientia Company's plant, a pharmaceutical firm within the Special Economic Zone. Those injured were quickly transported to NTR Hospital for medical care.

The accident took place during lunchtime, which helped prevent a larger catastrophe. Images from the scene show smoke rising from the reactor and spreading to nearby villages.

Both the District Collector and the Superintendent of Police are heading to the site of the explosion. Relief and rescue efforts are currently in progress.
