TN: Youth arrested after killing his father with stones

Coimbatore, 20: A 28 year-old man was arrested, after brutally killing his alcoholic father.

M Sundaram, an accused killed his father when P Murugesan (50), his father assaulted him with a shovel.

On Friday night, Murugesan came back home and attacked his son with a shovel after their quarrels. While stopping his father, Sundaram got injuries in his hands. Sundaram went to his neighbours' house for first aid. When he came back, Murugesan attacked him once again, then finally the angry son snatched the shovel and attacked his father on his head. When Murugesan was unconscious, he smashed his head with stones. Sundaram fled from the spot after killing his father.

Police arrested Sundaram after his neighbours came to know about the incident.

"We have arrested him and have lodged him in Coimbatore central prison" said R Ramesh Kannan, inspector of Sirumugai police station.
