Yet another DMK MP arrested on land grab charges in TN

Chennai, Nov 16: With the witch hunt against the DMK party members continuing, yet another DMK MP was arrested on land grab charges. J K Ritheesh Kumar was arrested on Wednesday following a complaint filed by Samikannu of Pappangudi village in Kancheepuram district.

Ritheesh was elected to the Lok Sabha from Ramanathapuram and is believed to have usurped close to 1.47 acres of land using fake documents. This first time MP enjoys considerable clout within the party and is powerful in Ramanathapuram.

With the AIADMK party ruling the state, the crackdown on offenders in the DMK has been going on in full swing. Since May, the AIADMK was able to put many DMK MLAs and Ministers in jail over land grab charges.

The DMK and its chief M Karunanidhi cried foul at AIADMK's attempt calling it political vendetta.
