Chennai: Teacher strips college girls to find hidden mobiles

Chennai, Aug 2: In a shocking news, a Physical Education teacher in a college in Chennai allegedly asked a student to strip her dress to search for concealed cell phones.

The victim, a final year student, said that accused took her to college's restroom and stripped of her clothing. The victim also said that the college authorities were searching bags of students to try and find concealed cell phones ever since they joined the college.

Victim, along with other three students who also faced similar harassment, met the Vice-Chancellor of Madras University and filed a formal complaint against the staff of Prince Venkateshwara College of Arts and Sciences near Selaiyur.

Madras University Vice-Chancellor G Thiruvasagam said that if this report is found to be true authorities will take immediate actions against the college staffs.

"Students are not criminals and do not deserve to be searched like this. If this report is found to be true, we will have to respond severely," the Indian Express reported the VC as saying.

"I have informed the principal that the students are fearful of action and that such a state cannot continue. If any action is taken against the students, we will intervene." he added.
