Advocate attacked, lensman manhandled

Chandigarh, Feb 15 (PTI) Four youths allegedly attackedan advocate seriously injuring him outside court premisesclose to a police station here today, after which some lawyersreportedly clashed with mediapersons.

District Bar Association chief A S Chahal said fouryouths attacked Narinder Singh in the parking lot seriouslyinjuring the advocate who was hospitalised.

He said old rivalry dating back to university days wasbelieved to be the reason behind the attack.

Police said they had arrested one person in connectionwith the attack, adding a hunt was on to apprehend three more.

When the advocate was taken to hospital, lawyers andsome photo journalists reportedly clashed with each other.

A cameraman of a national daily was allegedlymanhandled by the advocates which was vehemently denied byChahal.

Police said it was looking into the matter.
