Municipal members reach office with diesel to remove garbage

Bijnor, Jan 25 (PTI) Unable to bear the stink emanatingfrom garbage lying open on the streets, Municipal Corporationmembers here gave diesel cans to the executive officer andrequested him to send pick-up vans to remove the dirt afterpetrol pump owners refused to supply oil to the local body fornon-payment of dues.

Six members of the municipal corporation yesterday handedover cans of diesels to the executive officer, requesting himto send pick-up vans to remove the garbage.

The garbage pick-up vans are not operating in the townfor the last eight days with petrol pump owners stoppingdiesel supply to the corporation for non-payment of dues. As aresult, heaps of garbage are lying open everywhere on streets,making life miserable for the residents.

The members said they will continue to supply dieseluntil the matter is resolved.
