'CM should answer for CWG construction, not me'

New Delhi, Oct 19: When CWG organising committee chief, Suresh Kalmadi was under scanner for corruption allegations, he claimed that all the construction projects were not on his part of job, CM Sheila Dikshit was responsible for that.

Pointing at the Games budgets, Kalmadi stated, "My budget was Rs 1,600 crore. I was not part of the construction work. She (Sheila Dikshit) has to answer a lot for that."

He also informed, "She had a budget of Rs 16,000 crore for construction related work and I had nothing to do with it."

"Everybody criticised me for the foot over-bridge collapse (near the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium) but that was not my business. The Delhi government and the PWD have to answer for that," CNN-IBN quoted Kalmadi on Oct 19.

Speaking about his absence at the CWG functions organised by Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, Kalmadi informed, "The chef de mission rang me to tell that we have to attend a function at the PM's residence but I told him that I cannot go because I was busy."
