Monica Lewinsky scandal: Brown apologizes for mocking Clinton
Washington, Sep 14 (ANI): Democratic candidate and perhaps future California Governor Jerry Brown has apologised for mocking former US President Bill Clinton over his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
It started when Republican candidate Meg Whitman yanked Brown's chain with a TV ad dredging up a 1992 New Hampshire primary debate in which Clinton charged that Brown raised taxes, New York Daily News reports.
"Whitman's "even got Bill Clinton lying about me. Clinton's a nice guy, but whoever said he always told the truth? I mean you remember, right? There's that whole story there about did he or didn't he?" the paper quoted Brown, as saying at a campaign stop on Sunday.
"Bill Clinton was an excellent President. It was wrong for me to joke about an incident from many years ago, and I'm sorry," he added. (ANI)
