Ratan Tata conferred with honorary law degree

Mumbai, Sep 7: One of India's beloved industrialists, Ratan Tata has been conferred with the degree of Honorary Doctor of Laws by the President and Board of Regents of Pepperdine University.

The Chairman of Tata group was presented the honorary degree at a formal ceremony in Mumbai on Monday, Sep 6.

"Ratan Tata is a shining example of what it means to be a successful businessman, a role model for thousands of workers not only in India but around the globe, a champion of free enterprise, and a humanitarian whose philanthropic work has benefited disadvantaged people of all nationalities," Andrew K Benton, President of Pepperdine University said at the function.

Pepperdine University is a Christian university, affiliated with the Churches of Christ. The independent, private, medium-sized university's 830-acre campus is located in California, USA
