S. Asian bodies to conduct regional water security study
Kathmandu, Aug. 17 (ANI): Three organizations in South Asia-Nepal Engineering College, South Asian Integrated Water Resources Management Consortium and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology - will undertake a three-year research project on water security in Kathmandu, Hyderabad and Gurgaon and Khulna and how it will impact increasing urbanization, global climate change and allied issues.
Xinhua quoted Professor Ashutosh Shukla of Institute of Engineering Pulchowk, as saying that a four-day workshop will be held to formulate the action plan of the project.
The institutes will have the responsibility of identifying the most vulnerable class to water security and technical and organizational aspects to minimize its impacts, Shukla added. (ANI)
