Beijing, July 11 (ANI): Describing himself as country's first 'businessman' President, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has called upon Chinese companies to invest more in the country.

Addressing the Pak-China Alternate Energy Forum here, Zardari, who is on a five-day tour to China, urged Chinese companies working in the energy sector to address Pakistan's energy needs through alternative and renewable sources.

"When I draw the attention of investors in the alternate and renewable energy, I ask for shifting from pollutant fossil fuel to clean sources of energy. We are impressed by the development made by the Chinese companies in the environment-friendly mixed hybrid fuel," The News quoted Zardari, as saying.

Zardari invited Chinese energy firms to harness solar and wind power in Pakistan.

Earlier, in an interview with local daily, Zardari said Islamabad is committed to strengthen its cooperation with Beijing by promoting a railroad connecting the two countries.

"Pakistan can be "force multiplier" for China's development. Pakistan can offer road links to China," Zardari said. (ANI)
