Hamilton to focus on new season after manager dad's exit
London, Mar. 3 (ANI): Former Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has said that he has decided to focus on the new 2010-11 racing season after parting ways with his manager, his father Anthony, less than two weeks before the first grand prix of the year in Bahrain.
Hamilton's growing maturity and his father's burgeoning business interests, as well as the desire to enjoy a simple father-son relationship after nearly 20 years together in motorsport, were cited as the key factors behind Tuesday's announcement, which had been some time in the offing. It's not destabilising for me. I'm still fully focused on the season. I feel excited and well-prepared. Dad and I discussed this a long time ago - he had always said that at some point he didn't think it would be right to be my manager. We just never knew when that might be," the Telegraph quoted Hamilton, as saying.
He said the McLaren "family" would take care of his day-to-day requirements until he had made a decision on his future. (ANI)
