India, China stage a walkout at the Heads of State meet
Copenhagen, Dec.18 (ANI): The ongoing United Nations' climate summit here suffered a setback when India and China, the two prominent developing nations, decided to stage a walk out of the ongoing Heads of State meet here on Friday raising objection over "in Umbrella paragraph" of the draft. hough the content of the "in Umbrella paragraph" is yet to be known but it has been learnt that both India and China fear that clauses have been smuggled into political draft at the ongoing summit.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chinese premier Wen Jiabao decided to walk out together over "umbrella paragraph".
Earlier in the day, Indian and Chinese leadership on arrival here held a '"pull aside" meeting in which they believed to have resolved to stay firm against the rich nations.
Meanwhile, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said that: the summit's outcome should stick to Bali Action Plan (BAP)" while adding that : "The developed nations should help the developing nations with finance. They must not ignore finance historic responsibilities." (ANI)
