Swat operations to end in 3-4 days: Pakistan
Islamabad, May 31: Syed Athar Ali, Pakistan Defence Secretary said that his nation is expecting to end the military offensive against the Taliban militants in the Swat Valley within two ro three days. In a regional defence conference held on Sunday, May 31 Ali said, "Only five to 10 percent of the job is remaining and hopefully within two to three days the pockets of resistance will be cleared."
Defence Secretary's comments came a day after Pakistan Army claimed that it had regained control over Mingora, the largest town in Swat valley, which was one of the three districts of the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) where fierece fighting is underway.
Military source said that over 1,200 Taliban militants have been killed in the operations.
