Elizabeth Edwards says she wouldn't leave husband if she found out he did father his mistress's child

Washington, May 21 (ANI): Elizabeth Edwards, the terminally ill wife of former Democratic presidential aspirant John Edwards, has said that if she knew that her husband had fathered his mistress's child, she would not leave him.

Participating in ABC's "The View," program as part of her book tour, Elizabeth said she does "not entirely" trust her husband.

Asked if she really didn't care to know, as she has claimed, whether her husband sired Rielle Hunter's 14-month daughter - though no one broke the interview rules and dared uttered Rielle's name - Edwards initially replied that she would be "perfectly happy" if the "whole issue would go away."

Then she added, "Somebody's obviously the father of this child. And if that person has other children then the other children need to be prepared. If that's my husband, then it is. Or if it's somebody else, then they need to make certain the other children are prepared for this change in their lives."

She didn't mention her own children - Cate, Emma Claire and Jack.

Pressed harder at one point, Elizabeth Edwards, who is battling inoperable cancer, conceded, "I don't know whose child this is, but my relationship with my husband is not changed by this." (ANI)
