Baitullah Mehsud claims responsibility for Lahore police training camp attack
Peshawar, Mar.31 (ANI): Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Baitullah Mehsud has claimed responsibility for Monday's terror strike on the Lahore police training academy, The News reported.
"Yes, we have carried out this attack. I will give details later," Mehsud told news agencies over telephone.
Earlier, addressing a press conference just after the commando operation in Manawan was finished, Interior Advisor Rehman Malik had pointed out towards Mehsud's involvement in the attack.
At least 27 persons were killed and over 90 injured when 10-12 gunmen barged inside the training camp and opened fired indiscriminately. The attackers had also held hostage about 800 police cadets
Mehsud is already wanted by the United States, and it had also announced a reward of five million dollars to anyone revealing the whereabouts of the TTP chief.
Mehsud is also considered to have masterminded the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. (ANI)
