Toddler rescued from a bore well in Madhya Pradesh

Harda (Madhya Pradesh), Mar 17 (ANI): A two-year old girl who was trapped in a bore well for over five hours was successfully rescued in Madhya Pradesh on Monday.

Police personnel, district administration and villagers put in a mammoth effort to save Lalli, who accidentally fell into the 12-feet-deep bore well while playing near it in Harda district.

"I was standing there and she was with me. I don't know how it happened and she fell into the bore well," said Banita, mother of Lalli.

The rescue operation started soon after the villagers informed the district authorities. The police and civil authorities swung into action to rescue the child.

The child who has been rescued without serious injuries was admitted to a nearby government-run hospital.

A number of children have over the past year fallen into uncovered bore wells.

In 2006 a little boy named Prince was rescued from a 50-feet deep bore well in Haryana. (ANI)
