US Topshop launch of Kate Moss' clothing toned down due to recession
Washington, Mar 9 (ANI): The launch of British supermodel Kate Moss' clothing at Topshop in the US has had to be toned down due to the recession.
Moss' fashion clothing line at British chain Topshop is doing so well that the franchise is heading overseas with a flagship store opening in New York next month.
But plans of having a huge bash to open the shop have been scrapped by its billionaire owner Sir Philip Green, who has instead decided to invite 35-year-old Moss to boost Topshop's American profile.
"The opening is on April 2 and the whole team is working hard to make sure it goes off without a hitch," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
"We've decided not to have a huge event, because of the recession, but we're looking forward to the line being a great success over there. Kate will hopefully be coming over to give it some glamour," he added. (ANI)
