Uzbek firm to sell gas at market prices in 2009
New Delhi, Nov 26: On Wednesday, Nov 26 Uzbekistans' oil firm UzbekNefteGaz said it will sell gas to its various clients, including Russia's Gazprom, at market rates next year.
''The company will price the gas at market rates in 2009, not the fixed prices its uses now,'' company official Jurabek Mirzamahmudov told reporters here on the sidelines of a conference. At present, the Uzbekistan's state energy company sells 13 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas to Russia's Gazprom.
Mr Mirzamahmudov said the company plans to sell an additional one bcm of gas to Gazprom next year, taking the total supply to 14 bcm.
