Let Mumbai and Ho Chi Minh City be sisters: President Patil

Ho Chi Minh City, South Vietnam, Nov 24 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil tonight called upon the Vietnamese leadership to consider linking Mumbai and Ho Chi Minh City as sister cities.

The President made this offer in her speech at the dinner hosted in her honour by Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Chairman Le Hoang Quan on her arrival here.

"Ho Chi Minh City has sister city relationships with cities like Osaka, Moscow, St Petersburg, Toronto, San Franscisco, Shanghai, Istanbul and Manila.

"We can also consider linking Mumbai and Ho Chi Minh City as sister cities. After all, both cities drive the economic engines in our fast growing nations," the President said.
