Students injured in roof collapse in school in Punjab

Amritsar, Nov 18 (UNI) As many as eight school children sustained injuries when a portion of the roof over a classroom collapsed at a private school near Gate Hakima in the walled city here today, police sources said.

According to the police, the injured children were students of the first standard.

The school was constructed in 1932 and the collapse was attributed to lack of timely repairs by the school management which is starved of funds.

The injured students were admitted to a local hospital and were stated to be out of danger. The police has registered a case and are investigating the matter.
