Prism finds election manifestoes difficult to implement
Aizawl, Nov 18 (UNI) Voluntary watchdog Prism (Peoples Right to Information and Development Implementing Society of Mizoram) after scanning the election manifestoes of major political parties, has found that some of the manifestoes would be difficult to implement.
In a review meeting by professionals, economists and intellectuals held here last week, Prism president Vanlalruata said his organisation would continue to monitor if the party which comes to power implements its pre-poll promises.
He said political parties had sold election manifestoes for formality's sake. Neither had they bothered to implement these when they came to power nor did the people remember the manifestoes promised to them.
Meanwhile, Prism is all set to release a booklet 'Lepsena', a scanner on the MLA candidates of the three major parties - ruling Mizo National Front, opposition Congress and United Democratic Alliance. The booklet will be released on November 20.
Mr Vanlalruata also stressed that people must be educated towards the need for implementation of the election manifestos.
