Hearing on Raj's showcause extended till Nov 27

Mumbai, Nov 18 (UNI) A local court today adjourned the hearing on the showcause notice issued to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, asking why the bail granted to him in a case related to his alleged statements against North Indians in February this year should not be cancelled, till November 27.

The notice was issued to Mr Thackeray by the metropolitan court in Vikhroli and he had filed his reply on the last occasion.

Special Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian said as the regular court was not sitting today due to unsound health of the judges, the matter has been adjourned to November 27 for hearing.

On October 22, the prosecution had moved an application before the magistrate's court in Vikhroli seeking the cancellation of Thackeray's bail in the case, a day after he was arrested from Ratnagiri in connection with the attack on North Indian candidates by MNS activists during a railway recruitment exam on October 19.
