Hardoi bypoll: Journalists stage commotion on highway
Hardoi, Nov 18 (UNI) Newspersons this morning boycotted the counting of votes to this assembly seat of Uttar Pradesh which went to polls on November 15 and created ruckus on Hardoi-Lucknow highway as they were not allowed to enter the counting site with cameras and cell phones.
The whole matter started off, when the police and the local administration did not permitted the scribes and lensmen to carry their cells and cameras inside the ITI compound, where results were being calculated.
Irked over the same, the mob boycotted to attend the votes' counting process and blocked the highway.
The agitators also raised slogans against the SP and the DM.
The mob could only be pacified on the interception of the senior police and administrative officials later on.
This Uttar Pradesh assembly seat had gone to bypoll on November 15 last and the decleration of result was done today.
