Dr Ramadoss calls on Norwegian PM in Oslo

New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Anbumani Ramadoss today met Norway Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and discussed issues pertaining to health cooperation between the two countries at Oslo including the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).

During the meeting, Dr Ramadoss, who is on official visit to Norway, highlighted maternal and child health programme, tobacco control measures and HIV/AIDS in India among others.

Mr Stoltenberg appreciated the NRHM and reduction in maternal mortality ratio in India.

Dr Ramadoss was assisted by Mr G C Chaturvedi, Additional Secretary and Mission Director, NRHM and Dr Lalit Kant, Senior Deputy Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research.

The Ministry delegation, headed by Dr Ramadoss, is on official visit to Norway, Sweden and UK from November 17-23.
