CPI,allies to organise bandh on Nov 25 on Lankan Tamils issue
Puducherry, Nov 18 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) and its allies will organise a bandh here on November 25 on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue.
A decision to this effect was taken at an all-party meeting this evening, CPI Puducherry unit secretary Na Ra Kalainathan told UNI today.
The meeting also urged the Centre to take immediate steps to ensure a ceasefire in Sri Lanka and protect innocent Tamils.
Representatives of the CPI, PMK, MDMK, RJD, BSP, NCP and Thanthai Periyar Dravider Kazhagam participated in the meeting this evening, Mr Kalainathan added.
The Tamil Nadu unit of the CPI had convened an all-party meeting in Chennai yesterday on the issue and called for a strike on November 25.
