Court sents Co-Founder of IM to 14-day police custody

New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) A city court today remanded Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh, an alleged co-founder of Indian Mujahideen, to 14-day police custody to facilitate his interrogation over his alleged involvement in September 13 Delhi serial blasts.

Earlier, the Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested Sheikh in connection with the blasts which took place at Karol Bagh, Connaught Place, Greater Kailash-I areas.

Sheikh was brought by Delhi Police from Ahmedabad on a transit remand and produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.

CJM Kaveri Baweja sent him to police custody till December 1.

The name of Sheikh had come up while the five accused, arrested earlier in this case, were interrogated.

Sheikh used to pass electronic messages allegedly to the module members of the IM.

He was first arrested by the Mumbai police and formally arrested by Delhi Police in connection with the Connaught Place blasts.

Mohammad Saif, Zeeshan, Shakil, Zia-ur-Rehman and Saqib Nisar were the five accused who were arrested earlier.
