Azana case accused appeal in Kerala high court
Kochi, Nov 18 (UNI) The 13 accused in the Azana attempt to murder case today filed an appeal before the Kerala high court, challenging the sessions court order yesterday convicting them under 307 IPC.
The Thalaserry sessions court had yesterday convicted and sentenced the 13 accused for the September 27, 2000, bomb explosion at Kannur, in which a six-year-old girl Azana lost her legs.
The sessions court had sentenced fifth accused Nerodh Ramachandran to ten years' imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000 and the other accused to five years' imprisonment.
In their appeal, the accused contended that the judgement of the sessions court was against law, fact and evidence.
The court will consider the appeal tomorrow.
