8,38,953 voters to cast ballots in 5th phase, notification issued
Srinagar, Nov 18 (UNI) A total of 8,38,953 electorate, including 4,01,833 women, are eligible to elect their representatives from 11 Assembly constituencies in the fifth of seven-phase elections in Jammu and Kashmir, notification for which was issued yesterday.
The constituencies included Tral, Pampore, Pulwama and Rajpora in Pulwama district, Wachi and Shopian in Shopian district in Kashmir valley and Bani, Basohli, Kathua, Billawar and Hiranagar in Kathua district in Jammu region.
The authorities have decided to set up 1,089 polling stations across these constituencies.
Officials said today that notification for these constituencies going to polls on December 13 has been issued yesterday.
He said November 24 will be the last date for making nominations, scrutiny of nomination papers will take place the next day.
The last date for withdrawal of candidatures has been fixed as November 27.
