1,041 computerised branches of Banks to collect advance IT

Mumbai, Nov 18 (UNI) Reserve bank of India today said as many as 1,041 computerised branches of public and private sector banks will receive advance income tax in in the city and adjoining Navi Mumbai.

These arrangements have been made for the convenience of the income tax assesses, RBI said here in a release here. Among these branches 983 branches were public sector bank branches, 30 HDFC bank branches, nine ICICI bank branches and 19 AXIS bank branches. RBI has advised income tax assesses to take advantage of these standing arrangements made for their convenience.
