Ticketless traveling could cost you a buck in B'lore

Bangalore, Oct 20: A checking drive was conducted by the checking squad for ticketless travel by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) for the month of September. The squad detected 8,438 cases of ticketless travel during September. A penalty of Rs 7.13 lakh was slapped on the passengers for ticketless travelling. Similarly, 123 passengers were caught while trying to re-sell bus passes and a penalty of Rs 1.96 lakh was levied on them.
