India keen to sign N-deal with France
Marseille (France), Sep 29: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sure has a target after successfully pushing Indo-US Nuclear at all levels. PM is now aimimg for a deal with European Union.
Ahead of their annual Summit here, India and the European Union (EU) on Sunday, Sep 28 signed an agreement for enhancing cooperation in civil aviation. If this is not wnough to satrisfy our PM, he wants a Nuclear deal with Paris, no less. Manmohan Singh currently in France for the India-European Union (EU) Summit. Manmohan Singh and French President Nicolas Sarkozy are on course to sign a bilateral nuclear cooperation agreement on Tuesday, Sep 30 in Paris. The French are offering India their latest model of the European Pressurised Reactor, which can produce one giga-watt of power.
France is sure keen to offer energy to India. France which produces about 80 pc of its electricity from atomic energy is opening arms wide but under strict agreement.
Ahead of the EU summit, the European Commission had issued a statement saying it would mark an important stage for the future of relations between the 27-member bloc and India.
